Annapurna region

Annapurna region is Nepal’s largest protected area covering 7,629 km2 (2,946 sq mi) in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. It ranges in elevation from 790 m (2,590 ft) to the peak of Annapurna I at 8,091 m (26,545 ft). The conservation area stretches across Manang, Mustang, Kaski, Myagdi, and Lamjung Districts. Annapurna Conservation Area encompasses Annapurna Sanctuary and is known for several trekking routes including Annapurna Circuit.

There are various starting point for the Annapurna region trek. Such as, for Annapurna Sanctuary trek the trek begins from either kande or Nayapul. If you start from kande the trek will end at Nayapul and if you start from Nayapul it will end at kande or phedi. Similarly for the short Annapurna trek one can start the trek from Nayapul and end at the same point or at phedi.

The different trekking destination in Annapurna region has its own starting and ending points depending upon the Agencies routes. Every trekking agency follow different routes. Some follow clockwise for the Annapurna circuit and some of them follow anti-clockwise. The best and easy trekking routes to the Annapurna circuit is mostly did clockwise.

The best season for this trek is from March to May in Spring season and from Mid September to November in the Autumn season.
